If
you are injured on the job, tell your supervisor
immediately, and ask to file an accident report.
Keep a dated copy. Your benefits then break
down into three parts:
Medical
Treatment: Ask for medical treatment. You
have a right to immediate medical care,
and your employer must select and pay for
the doctor.
Salary
Continuation: If you can't work, you are
entitled to partial salary continuation
payments. When you are released back to
work, if you still can't do your job, say
so, and ask for further medical treatment.
Lump
Sum Award: After medical treatment ends,
you might still be entitled to a lump sum
award to compensate you for residual injury.
This is usually the part of your benefits
with the highest dollar value, and it is
the area where we can be of the most value.
When
it comes to work related injuries, we can be
of maximum assistance if we are retained immediately
after the injury.
